Who we are
Jeffrey Davis, trading as Retired & Active, is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@walkingperformance.com.
What we collect and why
- Email address — when you join a free plan list or contact us. Used to send what you asked for and to reply to you. Legal basis: consent, and performance of a contract.
- Order information — the product bought and the order reference. Used to deliver downloads and handle support. Legal basis: performance of a contract. Card details are collected and processed by Paddle, not by us.
- Support messages — anything you write to us. Used to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Usage and device data — pages viewed, approximate location from IP address, browser and device type. Used for security, fraud prevention, and improving the site. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Game progress, scores, unlock codes, and the list of questions you have already played are stored locally in your own browser and are never sent to us.
Who we share data with
- Paddle — our Merchant of Record, for the sale of our products, payment processing, invoicing, and tax compliance.
- Service providers — hosting, database, email delivery, and analytics providers who process data on our instructions.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting, where necessary.
- Authorities — where we are required to by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
Email list data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Support messages are kept for up to two years. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to our use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. UK and EEA residents can also complain to their supervisory authority. Email hello@walkingperformance.com and we will respond within one month.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect personal data.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies and browser local storage to keep the site and games working — for example remembering your sound settings, unlock codes, and which questions you have already played. Checkout pages set cookies from Paddle so payment works. You can clear or block these in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working.
